Warranty for AB light?

New RX-8 owner here! Love the car! My airbag light comes on every now and then and after researching this great site I noticed there are some issues and I want to take it to Mazda. Problem is I am about to turn 50K miles and I have misplaced my warranty book, and thought I remember reading that the Airbags are covered until 60K miles. Can anyone verify this is the case? Thanks!

You have nothing to worry about my friend. Just checked it. Seat belts/air bags-60 months/60,000 miles.

Thanks! After only having the RX-8 for a few days I was a little worried about the light and not being able to get to Mazda until I passed 50K. Wife is pregnant and I sold a 350Z to get this car so I could put a baby seat in the back. So far I am absolutely impressed with this car from top to bottom. Can't stop smiling when I drive this machine.

Go to your dealer ASAP ! Atho there was a problem a while ago, with ABS light, due to some loose connectors under your seat or something. But its better to be safe than sorry. since it might have something to do with a Life-saving device.

Shit happens, u know, it really does !

So go now ! what are you waiting for !

Airbag Warning light

I had a problem with my airbag warning light coming on and staying on. I took the 8 to the dealer and was told I needed a new airbag installed for $592. I did some research here and saw comments about loose wiring under the seat. After giving the wiring harness under the seat a good squeeze the light went out and stayed out.

I'm glad I checked here before shelling out the cash. I am very annoyed that the dealership tried to sell me a new airbag. I did some more checking and found a Mazda Service Bulletin regarding this problem. There are 5 things the tech should check according to the bulletin. Replacing the airbag does not appear on the list.

It's time for a new car for me. I really like the Mazda but since there is only the one dealership convenient to my house and I now know they can't be trusted, I won't be buying another Mazda.

I don't know if the dealer's service folks are dishonest or just stupid. It doesn't really matter to me at this point.
