Question Driver Door Speaker Cutout

Hello... i have a 2004 6sp rx8 with the Bose sound option and love it! Recently though, my driver door speaker has been cutting out on me. When it does, it just wont make any sound until i lightly tap the door with my left hand (sometimes have to smack it), and it will come back on. Sometimes it will cut out again and again and it keeps getting more and more frequent. I took my door panel off and pulled the speaker from the door and checked all the wireing... all the wires are still sodered and all connections look it good shape will no loose wires or anything. So my problem is, that is about the extend of my car audio troubleshooting expertise...lol. The wires going into the speaker come from some small silver-looking box which i'm assuming is an amp? and that has all sodered/solid connections too. Before i start replacing parts blindly i was wondering if anyone would have some troubleshooting advice or if anyone else has run into this issue.

Disclaimer: I have tried searching already so please excuse me if this is something someone else has posted about already... my searches either came up with nothing or other people yelling at a poster to search (very helpful) lol! ;P

nobody has anything? even some basic car audio troubleshooting tips with the RX8? lol... i'm gettign desperate as its gotten worse since i originaly posted... its almost cut out more than its working now... pretty frustrating when i'm trying to listen to some good tunes lol and am looking at either paying someone to diag it for me (i'm broke at the moment lol) or start replacing parts (probably a bad idea until i know what to replace) lol.

Ok... so it doesn't work... but works when you hit it sometimes...

So, hitting it causes it to move slightly. It works "some of the time" so you know all your components are probably working fine. Most times when something shorts out or is dead... it doesn't work intermittently. However, electrical components are fussy.

If you haven't already, take apart your door skin and remove the speaker... clean the connections to the speaker and to the amp that is installed in the door. I bet this is just a bad connection somewhere along the way. You should be able to fix it without spending and $$.

hmm... ok i'll take my door panel off again and try to clean the connections this time. last time i just checked them to make sure they were all still sodered, which they were all solid connections. whats the best way to clean the connections without damaging them? i was thinking a cheap plain toothbrush and just lightly brush each connection? from what i rememder each connection looked super clean/shiny copper/gold.

They make electrical contact cleaner also, I would pick up a can of that.

Also... you can do this with the radio on so you figure out exactly what movements make the speaker turn on, etc.
