Exclamation Car Alarm Issues

Ok.....so idk if it is just my RX8 but it seems that the alarm system it has (stock) is very sensitive. I just got back to school from winter break and its already gone off 3 times. It usually goes off when someone drives by it really close & fast or if they have a roaring car. also i've realized it goes off when the train comes by, but the train is hundreds of yards away.

has anybody else had this issue and/or what can/should i do about it???

Thanks

You must have the shock sensor upgrade. I had mine go off all the time, and sometimes for no real reason at all. I took it in and had them turn down the sensitivity on the shock sensors. It's a lot better now, but still goes off with motorcycle noises and similar if it's close by.

What year?
Mine is adjustable.
Do you know where the module is?

If it's an 07, you got it new, and came already on the car, then I am most likely wrong.
Mine is the OEM shock sensor but bought separately back in 05. So.......it may be likely that you have one that isn't adjustable???????? Is the alarm listed in your owners manual?

It's located on the passenger side front somewhere under the dash, but not entirely sure where from there. That is where I was told it was located anyway. I figured it was just easier for me to have the sensitivity turned down when I had it in for an oil change and did.
