What's the best CAN Scan tool?
I know losts of people use CAN Scan tools on here, so what is the best CAN Scan tool that I can get to log and store what the ECU is doing, codes it's sending out, and at the same time other diagnoastics like airflow, air temp, speed, rpm, CAT temp, oil pressure, brake pressure, etc.? If there's not one that can do this what are the best two, one that reads code and one that reads Diagnostics?

Is it on the expensive side of things...but, well, I'll never know. I got the Dan Harrison package.
Once thing I know, the AE software has a much better looking interface :D

canzoomer is an updated version of the harrison R&D CanScan. New chip and software. I originally bought the Harrison R&D canscan, but than purchased the upgrade chip and sofware from CanZoomer. Just go straight CanZoomer.

I have the AutoEnginuity unit and am totally pleased with their system. No fooling around trying to figure out what your looking at. System is auto-ranging and everything in realtime with broader and more readable scaling than what I have seen elsewhere.

I have two questions does the Canzoomer one actually log and record OBDs and ECU codes? And does the AutoEnqinuity, which looks very nice, actually allow you to tune the ECU?

so I can't do things like tweak air flow, and another questions does it log all ECU codes, I thought that tweaking things like air flow is exactly what the Canzoomer device did and with the proper equipment you could do your own tweaking. It also says on the autoenginuity site you can tune the ECU.

If you'd ever bought any of Hymee's stuff....you'd realise it's worth waiting for. Hymee's CanScan is coming, do a search, there are threads on it.

well, I didn't know he was releasing one. I thaught that in the write up polak did on the canzoomer device he said he tuned his? But if niether of these can "tune" the what device would you recommend to use to "tune" the ECU, and does it have it's own OBD scan or should I also purchase on of these OBD scan tools? Will Hymees be able to do the tuning I have spoken of or is it just another reader?

so if I read this correctly with the CZ unit, canscan, and a usb connector form CZ I can read, log, and edit my maps? And by maps they mean fuel/air maps, if so this is what I meant by tuning and tweaking?

Here is the thread. Read Hymee's posts about what he plans for his CanScan tool.

It can't do nearly as much stuff as the autoengutity (or however you spell it), but its a self contained unit, and great for diagnosis. Can also interface with the pc to pull graphs and FFD's.
(That FFD is the infamous Mazda 6 Injen CEL)
