Going with nitrous!!!!

With the current mods: RE intake, UR pullies, CZ ecu stage 2, SR midpipe, mazdaspeed exhaust, and mazdaspeed ground wires, i am still looking for more power. I was going to go turbo but i think nitrous is a better route.
I Got the NX EFI wet kit, with all the acessories.

With the nitrous i didn't want to inject all of it into the motor at one shot, especially because i want to run up to a 80 shot, its to much stress on the motor. So i picked up the NX maximizer, which is new on the market and is a ecu for the NOS that is controlled by pc and injects nitrous progressively and different amounts in different gears, it also has a nitrous cut-off swith at a certain RPM for safety reasons. It can also monitor the A/F ratio and a bunch of other stuff too.

I've already started installing the kit, and it should be done in another weak. Im in the process of making a nitrous map and i don't want to run the map all the time because at the certain rpm when i the 80 shot is introduced the ignition is retarded 15 degrees and i don't want to drive with that when the nitrous is not being used. So im trying to figure out how to run the canzoomer to either run multi-maps (with stage 3) or be able to turn the CZ on/off with the nitrous.

I will keep everybody posted on my progress.

I've had turbo cars in the past as well as nitrous cars and there are far less problems with a good nitrous kit then a turbo kit. With nitrous if something happens to the motor i can take it all off easily and bring it back to the dealer and it will still be under waranty were turbo it is a little more difficult. Also the turbo kit is so i don't want to be a test pig.

Be careful. I know Charles is ruuning a 55 shot with his unit. He ran a 75 hp jet and started getting detonation, but maybe with this ECU unit it will help out that condition. What gas is out there in LI ? IS it 91 or 93 octane ? Would love to see how it works. Tell us how it works out.

We have 93 octane here on LI, The Canzoomer ecu is going to help out the detonation issue.
At the 50 shot the timing will be retarded 10 degrees, and at
the 80 shot the ignition timing will be retarded 15 degress.

hooray! NoS took my 94 MX-6 from a 15.1 quarter to a 13.2. gotta love the cheap power....i might have to go with the bottle myself since my payments alone might rule out the turbo....good luck

Just ordered my stage 3 upgrade from canzoomer, so now i can run multi-maps from inside the car, with just the push of a button.
1- nitrous map
2- stock map
3- high performance map

When a motor is destroyed or damaged, Mazda has the dealer take an oil sample from the engine, and do a used oil analysis. Traces of NO2 will show up quite easily in this, and the warranty will be instantly voided. The damaged/destroyed engine is also shipped to mazda, where they give it a detailed teardown to determine the cause of failure.

Its kinda of hard to miss a motor thats been damaged by nitrous ...the signs are apparent and easily identified.

Just pointing this out, as it is the system that mazda is following for destroyed motors, and prior experience you might of had with "beating the system" will no longer work in your favor.

NOS is on my wish list, but it is the last item on that list also. I'm having more fun right now reading about all of the NOS projects going. Good Luck in your install - hope everything works out!

And of course, all of us here will need to see some, you guessed it - PICS!
