I have been thinking about doing a higher end audio install on one of my 8s and am looking for opinions on the CDT audio stuff. Some seem to love it others not so much.... What do you think?

They make great gear. Not sure why anyone would dislike anything they make.
On a only slightly related note, I just notice Focal's prices have really seemed to spike. Like to ridiculous levels. Certain component sets are about 80-90% more than I remember them being. Jesus. Their equipment isn't THAT good. Nobody's component set warrants 900 friggin dollars.
I have saw some Very good things about there QES 1020 sub and think it would work Great in my 4080 box. They are just not a big name brand and I have not seen a whole lot of info on there products.
Popularity of brand name means nothing. My component speakers are made by Adire Audio. A tiny high quality manufacturer that couldn't make ends meet and went out of business ~late 06. They're fantastic speakers. And yet, I've seen more Jenson brand crap come into my shop than anything else. Much more well known. They haven't made a quality piece of equipment since the dawn of time.
I wouldn't hesitate running CDT's equipment myself. They do seem to sell a lot of B-stock/refurb items to the market. That's something most company's don't do. They claim the colors of the basket may be mismatched or maybe there's a scratch on it somewhere. Nothing is suppose to affect performance in anyway. Here's your subwoofer for example. Direct from CDT.

Yeah I've seen them offer B-stocks to the public for years. Don't think they always had their own store through their website though. cbrtsereo.com used to sell the B-stocks for them, but they went out of business a few years ago. Used to get killer deals on component sets. Looks like you can get them direct from CDT now for about the same price I've seen them at.
