LED cup holders

stole the idea from my buddy. what do y'all think??

if i put like a clear bottle of water or any transparent cup with a drink, it makes the whole drink light up white hahah. it's bright, but not annoyingly bright because of the direction of the lights. also my arm is always covering it too so it doesn't bother me xD

as always, all comments and criticism are welcome :D

Not bad. I'd probably use fewer lights though.

Needs so much cleaning hahahh. And I would've used single white ones in each, but I was using led strips and they were cut by threes so I just thought might as well hahah. I should've just cut the one led off >.>

I'm not knocking it... I think it's a pretty cool idea and if I ever have my center console off and a couple blue LEDs laying around I'll likely do something similar, maybe smack dab in the center of the bottom of each cup holder... something cut flush and sealed nice and neat.

LED's normally work in 3 set pairs, you can't break it up otherwise they would stop working.

I can't wait for someone to screw up the install n' have the LED's point upwards so they blind the driver everytime they look into their cupholder.

LMAO -- I was thinking low luminosity ones... more so like an old school washed out hard drive activity / turbo / power LED than a high power VLED type LED.

hahah thanks for the feedback guys! yeah it is definitely diy/mickeymouse/ghettorig quality lolol. when i was drilling the holes in the cup holders, i kinda missed :P so i had to make the holes bigger and bigger and bigger making the holes less clean looking :/

as far as a diy, there's not much too it. all you have to do is take the center piece out, drill some holes in the cup holders, tape/glue leds behind the holes, and then tap them into wherever you want. i did it to the rear outlet thing so they turn on when the car is on.

and someone said they're going to do it in the middle on the bottom....yeah, don't do that LOL might look cool if you put a glass of water on top of it, but it'll probably bug the **** out of you xD especially at night.

also a switch to turn off when the lid is closed would've been a good idea, but too complicated for me hahah

ok, broke down and did this (with a switch)...check it out.

After I finished my wife suggested I put them on the same side angling into each cup holder.....damnit!....next time.

this isnt back in the car yet so Thoughts before I tidy things up

that's pretty sweet!!! if the switch wasn't so damn ugly hahah!! no offense :P you should try and find a way to hide it better!! AND, IMO, you should've put the lights where i put mine so that when you have a drink in there, it lights the drink up!!! it's pretty cool hahahahh

I wanted to put the lights there but the LED's I have have fairly large lenses on them and wouldn't fit...had to improvise...yea 10-4 on the switch but its the size of a quarter and I rarely open my lid
