Best Subwoofer Positioning

What are the best subwoofer facing position you guys/gals tried?

The best i got was to have the Subwoofer facing down into the dip in the trunk. The bass felt like it came from the front, right, left, top and back of the car.

If I were to put the subwoofer directly behind the seats and having it facing the trunk opening, the bass can be felt coming from the rear only.

Btw, I am only using a pair of 8" DVC subs.

I don't like the thought of adding extra standing waves/resonant peaks by firing into an additional enclosure such as a trunk, so I chose to fire through the back seats (which are very thin, especially if you remove the plastic wall). I find this maintains the most accurate bass musically speaking vs. the other methods that strive for higher volumes at certain key frequencies...

Justs my opinion tho-

Yea, its the one from ebay, from Florida, the guy's name is Mike I think. Real nice guy,
and it is not ported, but sealed. It fits through the trunk without much problem...
For as cheap and decent as they are, it wouldn't probably be worth the effort to build your own if you were just going to copy this one... I was really happy with mine, and I am even being lame right now and running the amp of the speaker level inputs.
It would be a million times better with a LOC.

I've got the same ebay box. Fits in through the trunk no problems, once I took the sub off it. Wouldn't fit with the sub on - it's a tight sqeeze. But once you get it in, there's plenty of room to manuever it so it's easy to mount the sub.

Any pics from the trunk? How much space does it take up?

Depending on what you carry and what you want to do w/ the rest of the trunk, I think it takes up less space that 2 4080 boxes. However, it will compliment the 4080 boxes if you ever want to get really crazy. I had no trouble getting my box in w/ the subs installed, however, it probably would not fit w/ grilles installed. Things have changed since, but here are a couple of pics.
