Question Painting the plastic trim (Around the exhuast tips ) on the rear bumper?

I have a 04 rx8 and due to age the plastic trim (Black under the rear bumper where the exhaust tips come out) is fading and look skinda whitish now. I was thinking of painting it using the flat black trim paint. Has anyone here done anything similar ? if so any suggestion if I should or not. I am just not liking the faded look.

Have you tried Meguiars Back to Black? If not, painting would be good but I would think you would need to prime it really well for it to hold up.

Got sick of the plastic lower portion and the fake rear grill, so I inserted real diamond pattern grill and painted the rear portion lexus metallic black (thats not the exact name, but all I know is that I took the color code from lexus).

Very nice man,

Yeah just make sure you clean the area down and primer it so that the paint would hold. Hey silvere8 what did you use to prep the area?

Came out ok.
It still have the same texture, since I didn't sand it down.

Thanks for all the input guys. I am really not sure if I want to paint mine the body color. I kinda like it Black. I did get back to black meguiars. Also ordered the 303 Aerospace, thanks a lot Ross_Dawg in case the back to black isnt satisfactory. I think if nothing works I am going to paint it usinf the duplicolor trim flat black.
