MS wing weatherproofing

Hey guys,

I installed a used MS spoiler on my car today using original MS instructions. Had to scrape and reapply double-sided tape, but other than that it's a simple install. Uses the same holes as the regular spoiler.

But my question is should I worry about rainwater (and salt in the unlikely event of winter driving) accumulating under the lower part of the MS wing? (that which sits on the trunk).

The design of the lower part is obviously not weatherproof. Double-sided tape only covers the middle of the leading edge, and the sides are not sealed at all. The trailing edge mounting piece looks like it's designed for ventilation.

I've put silicone around the mounting bolts for a bit of protection, but now I'm thinking I need to silicone over the leading and side edges of the lower wing part.

Thoughts /experiences?
Any reports of rust after long-term exposure?
