DIY Passenger side oil cooler

SO here is how to add an extra factory OIL COOLER.

This is what you need.
left side oil cooler with brackets
left side oil lines
center oil hard line

All nuts and bolts should be 10mm

First you should drain all oil from the car.
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=90879.html
(This next 2 are not necessary if you know what your doing, but it can make it easier to install the hard line that goes across the brace.)
Remove air intake box:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=54827.html

Also remove battery:
http://www.myrotarycar.com/portal/fo...3le/index.html

Then raise the front end and place 2 jack stands on each side.

Remove bumper
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=10941.html

Also remove under body panel, this makes it easier to reach the lines.
(2 plastic screws on wheel wells, you can reach them by rotating wheels to left and right. then 2 metal screws on each side where the plastic walls are at. And 2 more under the sub frame.)

Go to right side cooler and remove the line that comes from the back of the engine by oil filter. should be the lower hose on the cooler.

Then proceed to install the oil hard line on the brace that is inside engine bay. the brackets should align to each threaded hole. You can go ahead and connect the lines from the right side cooler to the longer hard line. then engine to the shorter one.

Then install the left side cooler on the car and connect the lines to the oil hard line. You can look at the right side cooler to see how its installed.

You should check to make sure all C clips are on properly and all bolts/nuts are tight.

You can then add oil to the car and start it. Check for leaks and loose parts.

If everything is good re-install the under body panel and bumper back up.

If anything is wrong or needs some changing or you have a better way post up and ill edit it. or mods can.

Thanks
Diego

um not sure, it shouldn't bring up any cels. take it to a parts store and get a code reader. then we could figure it out before u pay mazda to do it. Or simply do the ecu reset thing and see if that works.

So I reset the ecu and the engine light stayed out, however, the dsc light is flashing and the traction control light is staying on...tried pulling the fuses and putting them back in, no luck. The fuses don't seem to be blown either.

need to turn the wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right and then restart it to re-calibrate the sensors.

No the brackets come with the lines only. There should be some holes with X on them. Thats where you should mount the top part.
This are them.
