Quick question !

ALright well i just bought my RX-8 today! and wat can i say!! I LOVE IT!!! ITS AWESOME!!!!

anywayss!! i raced my cousins GS-R today he only has CAI and type-R lsd and a short shifter, and he took me by about half a car and about 1 car i lauched at around 6300 and i had him by a car then he pulled hard,

Now iv herd that our cars run mid 14's with a good driver , what mods would i need to get it to land in the low 14's? or even high 13's????

Can I just be the first to give you some friendly advice? What are you doing racing in a brand new RX-* (assuming it is new), without even breaking it is first? You should be taking it easy the first 1000 miles. If you're gonna launch at 6300rpms, you can shortly kiss your clutch and/or tranny goodbye. I fear your RX-8 may not last too long if you're going to treat it like this the day you bought it...

Wow, just imagine how much faster it's gonna be once the break-in period is over!

I've heard that with adding an aftermarket intake, you can shave a full 1.5 seconds off your 1/4 mile. THEN you can take your friend's *** on the street!!!! :D

Excuse me, it isn't necessary to act as if you have placed a ***** in your mouth. I purchased a 2004 RX8 with 21,000 miles on it. It is the 6 speed model. I was contemplating purchasing an Acura RSX-S but discovered that my insurance rates would have exceeded my ability to pay them so I changed my mind and purchased the Mazda. Please don't interpret my questions and comments to indicate that I am one of those people commonly referred to as "ricers." I am curious as to the adaptabilty of the Renesis engine and various engine modifications that are available on the open market. I was hoping to ask an easy question from all you fine people. I did attempt using the "search" option as someone so politely and kindly pointed out before, but perhaps I did something wrong as the only results were highlighting a flywhee, an intake, and the every popular "P" flash.

It's not important.

I forgot to mention, I merely peformed a street duel with him for the sole reason that he told me that he attempted another exhibition of speed with an auto similar to mine as acted quite conceited in his story telling. I was attempting to demonstrate to him the fallacy of his story. As it stood, he only obtained victory by approximately a mere six feet. I was pleased with that result because he is much more experienced vehicle operator than I am.

Please hear the whole story before you you voice your displeasure with my activities.

(unintelligeble)

I implore you. Be quiet.

hmm some have done a canzoomer or an emanage (almost same thing) and gotten good resutls........i like the lightened flywheel acceleration is much better (in the 1st 3 gears that is).

teh exhaust doesn't relaly add much maby 4 hp..intake abotu the same. i have teh rev8 and revi i love teh combination. other than the ecu piggy back i'd say mid-pipe (i'd go high flow cat less gas smell:p) is the best bang for the buck (other than turbo of coarse).

don't bother with the pulley they aren't worth it (only like 1 hp maybe).

hope that helped out a lill' good luck with your adventures / endevours D:D

Welcome to the board Jack! Glad to have you!

You posted your question in the correct place - best thing to do is just read each post and find the one that works the best for you. There are a lot of people with a lot of ideas. You have to consider budget, availability of a good mechanic (for the mods you won't do by yourself), etc.
