lots of ways, exhaust, the racing beat or the greddy. the intake can be change racing beat makes one called a revi. they are not too expensive, the exhaust will cost around 450 to 600 maybe a little more. the revi is pretty cheap i think 400. www.racingbeat.com

change out the whole exhaust, including a midpipe. the greddy sp2 is pretty loud. if you search there are sound files on here of every exhaust made for the rx8. also, try a cat-less exhaust...if you dont care at all about passing emissions.

fyi, the racing beat system is not very loud. just a increase in tone over stock.

I have the umnitza carbon fiber intake and i love it. its loud when you want it to be. when you want to be heard, people will hear it. Also it has a lower sound, its not high pitched.

definetly look into a midpipe, rotary performance has a pretty nice one, you should check out sr and the other ones out there too. also, you should check the aem intake.

Beta Chi Theta : From Racing beat:

"The muffler "off" will yield about 4 HP, with a very loud exhaust note. With it "off" the car, the noise is unbelievable! We find 2-3 HP peak RPM maximum improvement from our exhaust, or any competitive system that we have tested. So someone can see from these numbers, it is quite difficult to get a lot more HP from this engine. The max potential with a header and race exhaust would be around 10HP."

I see that this is your first post. You should probably read everything you can on this web site: http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda4.htm.

For exhaust: Midpipe and Greedy SP2 exhaust
For Intake: The K&N Typhoon...it is crap and you will lose Horsepower but it is loud.

For a midpipe you can order that from:
http://www.rx7.com or
http://www.srmotorsports.com/ or
http://www.canzoomer.com/

Lastly, thank the Lord that you are not my neighbor. :-)

Straight pipe, no resonator... totally depends on HOW loud you want it and if you are looking to ensure that you can still pass emmisions.
