It'll be good if you could dyno your car a before and after of the intake. And see if the claim of 9 HP to drive wheel as claim by K&N was true.

Trust me --- K&N doesn't falsely predict there products. They actually design, modify, and TEST ALL PRODUCTS!

I have the "MONSTER" size cone and pipe right next to me! If it doesn't get 9 horsepower of out it, I will FREAK!

MikeB/ A - Did either Vivid or Mtrix say that they gained anything from the K&N? I would assume they would or they wouldn't have it on their car. Also JIC Exhaust? The stainless or titanium? What lead you to that decision?

K&N install

........won't leaving the stock cover off allow too much hot air into the intake?!

Huff over at Vivid Racing said that K&N is creating a carbon fiber heat shield for this intake and it should be available in mid February.

Hey Mike, so what do you think of it? You always give very straight forward answers so I am looking forward to your response. May sway me to buy one. I love the looks of it.

Well, to all the questions about the sound and performance....

I put in the K&N intake for mikeb, which was a simple process.

I then took it for a drive, (note - mikeb has the automatic)
In "drive" the sound kicks in pretty quick and the pick up is much better. Once I put into the manuel position and used the paddles to shift. The intake would started to really SCREAM at higher R.P.M's.

All though I didn't drive it for but 10 minutes. He has the JIC Exhaust and the sound from that, inside the car was very minimal ( before the intake was in). Now the car sound very aggressive and sporty.... I think it was very well spent money for the car!!!

Also I have driven EricUSC's silver RX8 ( manuel trans ), He has the K&N intake and the Borla Exhaust. And I was very impressed with the quickness of the manuel vs. auto. I can really feel the power coming from the intake and the exhuast

So, all in all ......... I RECCOMEND EVERYONE TO BUY THE INTAKE!!!!

I drove the car about 100 miles today

and I love it

The intake gives a little more power in the low rmp's and I like that. Right around 3k rmp's that filter gets real loud and it sounds very strong. I am loving it !
