The car and all parts have been sold. I can't remember how to delete a post.

My 2004 Titanium Gray RX-8's engine lost compression about 2 years ago. I've been sitting on it since then in hopes that I could get a new engine, but I'm giving up. The car has normal wear and tear for a 10-year-old car. The center console has a broken latch, the coolant reservoir sensor has gone bad, and there are a few other minor dings, but it's a great project or parts car.

I haven't done any significant modifications to the car. I added a BlueTooth kit and clear corners, but it's stock otherwise. I have the original, unused floor mats since I have the all-weather floor mats in the car.

It still cranks, but it loses compression as it warms up. The tires were replaced a few months before the engine died, and (ignoring the down time) has had regular maintenance. The battery, which was also replaced shortly before the engine died, has been kept on a trickle charger.

I may be open to travel, pulling the car on a trailer, if the sell is definite. I'm located in Birmingham, Alabama.

Ok great, Yes I'm quite interested but have to do the math on cost versus reward as I'm in Central Florida. There are a few around these parts in respectable condition for slightly more so with the added time and cost of traveling there it may not be my best option so I really need to evaluate the condition before making the commitment to travel all the way there and back.

You mention trailer etc. Do you have one available to tow with? Or is that something you'd need to acquire?

I'm pretty sure I could borrow a trailer if I needed to. I don't own one but I know a few people.

Thanks for the jpegs, I found one a bit closer to home this weekend (2 hours away actually) with a bit more upgrades like leather and much cheaper. I hope it wasn't too much trouble but I think at least you have interior jpegs up now, that helps with interested buyers and this bumped your post once again. Overall the car looks decent for it's age had this one not come up I was giving yours very serious consideration.
