Safe adhesive for auto paint?

I purchased those little rubber strips that line the edge of the doors in order to prevent bumps and knicks, but the adhesive glue that was on one of them isn't holding anymore and the strip won't stay on. Does anyone know of any adhesive/glue that would be safe on auto paint?

3m molding tape

It's the same stuff that holds on the aftermarket body parts. Available at auto parts stores and discount stores like Walmart.
