Saw it, but don't need it...
Tony,
I noticed you're over in St Charles, close on to where our sons live. What's your ride look like? ...so I can honk when I see ya!
Mine's a brilliant black '04 with a VIS body kit and spoiler. The wheels are Work CR-KAI 18" with little blue flashing valve caps. The license plate is "BEA5T". (We bought my wife a white CX-7 with the plate "BEUTY" on it--'cause she's a cosmetologist--and when I bought my RX-8, I thought they'd look kewl sitting next to each other.)

Cole33,
I hate to miss out on such an opportunity, but I have other obligations. Perhaps I could still get linked in to the STL RX8 Club and start cruising with y'all at a later date. I'll check out the Facebook link at home [can't do it at work = filtered] and see if there are any other ways to get hold of y'all.
Thanks for the heads-up, and I hope to see y'all crusin' the streets of STL when we visit our kids...

Well, check the midwest part of the forums on here. There are several of us that post in the Saint Louis thread regularly and we have one of the best communities on here. There is also the STL RX Club on facebook that would help get you connected.
Totally understand those obligations, we already have 50ish members signed up for this cruise. We usually do it two or three times a year. Hope to see you out sometime!

Near at hand...
So, Cole, it looks like you're only about 15 miles north of St Louis proper. Where in town do y'all usually meet? Got one place that's always the corral for all those horses, or do y'all change it up for variety? Does your RX8 Club do things like a Poker Run or drive the winding county roads or take field trip to a designated location? I'm supposing those that've hung with the RX-8 for any length of time are able to provide a wealth of knowledge concerning maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. I've already read a few of the threads from some of the "experienced shade-tree mechanics" and have found a couple of nuggets of wisdom I wouldn't have even considered. I hope Mazda moves forward with their rotary technology, yet it appears from the press releases they're putting it on the back burner, and even considering coupling it with hybrid systems. Just hope the parts don't become scarce for what we've got!

Legend In My Own Mind
Check out the StL sticky in the MW area forums. Feel free to join us on Sunday. Also, I think we are considering a monthly Hooters gathering. You should take the conversation to the other thread instead of someone's FS just to be nice.

Yeah, I may have high-jacked the thread slightly, I just wanted to get both of them at the same time. Probably not the most courteous thing to do though.
Glad you got it sold though!

The More the Merrier...
Tony,
Glad you sold the shift ****. I can only hope the additional chat traffic brought the person into the thread. I look forward to seeing you (and your ride) sometime in the near future when we link up with the STL RX8 Club...
Tim and Al,
Oops! It's been a while since I've participated in a BBS style forum and--yes--I did forget my manners. I'll be more tactful from here on...
Cole,
Again, thanks for the invitation to join the group. I'm truly interested to see how all the rest of you gearheads have tweaked your rides...
