Figured I post a picture of mine, since it's been awhile.
Maybe I should've taken the license plate off before the picture....

I'd try move it somewhere else if I were you. The plate is blocking so much airflow to the radiator.

So yeah, you gotta drill into that black piece unfortunately.

Or removable double-sided tape like the 3M Command strips.

Although my temps are not high, I think I will try the double-sided tape. I don't like the idea of drilling, and living in Texas it's necessary to have it on.

Thank you. It's the Mazdaspeed body kit minus the mazdaspeed wing with the R3 rims I bought from a member on here.
I did end up moving the license plate up to open up air flow after this pic.
Even though I love my RX8, sometimes I think of selling it because I rarely drive it. But many friends tell me that I should just keep it and I think so far I am.

Cool

^^^I just did that. I really wanted to keep it, but as some of you know, I have a torn major tendon in my clutch foot so I had to. I traded it to my dealer for a 2010 Mazda 6S GT, low miles one owner. Almost a twin to my current 6 with addition of spoiler and GPS navi. No loan pmt and it also has the 3.7L V6 I love on my 2013 6.

I am curious on how much I would get for my RX8 sometimes, although I don't expect a whole lot. If in the future I ever do decide to sell it, it would have to be someone that will really take care of it properly.

I have a black RX-8, I now have +20mm spacers installed front & rear, + slotted rotors.

I am planning on powder coating the rims.
My girl says I should do bronze, (that means I have to paint the crest & strakes bronze also)

What's your opinion? Is bronze/gold a good color choice? Or rice?

Bronze and black never worked for me. I might be getting old, but I'm kinda over colored wheels anymore, I like silver.

I think it looks good the way it is. I wouldn't do bronze, but that's just my opinion though.

Like anything if it is done right it will look good. It needs to be the right shade of bronze to look good on a black car. Cheap rattle can paint will not get it done.

The ride was vastly improved, and now grip limitation and rotation feel much more predictable.
It takes bumps like a heavier car (Think, BMW or Audi) but still retains that lightweight feel. Oh, and now i don't scrape on freaking everything!

Note: Koni's are set 1/4 turn from full stiff in front, and 1/ turn from full in rear. I might actually tighten up the rear more in the future, but I'm content for now

Here's my new BB.. just transferred all my performance parts over from my tigray mazdaspeed 8 (which is now for sale along with lots of spare parts). Going to be swapping bodykit + throwing on spacers + some other odds and ends til it's done.. Engine has only 4k miles on it

Does anyone have a photo of a brilliant black rx-8 on gold wheels? I'm just curious on how it looks. OEM or aftermarket works either way.

Oh and here's my rx8

There are a few pictures in this thread with gold wheels. Just search the thread or take sometime and look at all the pictures. Some nice 8s here so it will worth the time spent.
