wheels feb '03

Since a couple of their contributors read this (Hi Bob!) I'll just paraphrase. It was excerts from an interview with the rx-8 Project manager.

1) Mazda will be announcing a 'suprise' in Jan '04.

2) He confirmed existence of a 280HP engine in development for the rx-8

3) 1 & 2 are expected to be linked.

4) The 280HP is expected to be a 13b N/A (10k RPM+)

Sorry best I could do unless one of the wheels guys OK's it.

Sadly some bastard just obliterated my car:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~isedgman/
Which leaves me short of any rx-8 whatsoever since the arent here til june

They listed the mechaincal mods to the mazdaspeed rx-8 as being exhaust and brakes. No I got the impression it was to be an MPS version. Mazdaspeed prepared, maybe, but not badged as such for export.

Your poor car! That makes me want to cry- such a waste! There aren't enough of them around as it is without idiots running into them.

But you're ok, it seems?

That sucks. You should get a POS (Piece of **** for non-Americans :D ) to drive until the RX-8 comes out. I would hate to see you buy something else and miss the 8. I hope you ripped his arm off and beat him about the head with it.

Thanks,

Wow, that sucks!! Hopefully you weren't hurt. Looks like it was a pretty brutal wreck. If that was me, I'd have beat the guy who caused it so bad I probably would have ended up in jail!

Concuscion (sp?) , a fair bit of blood loss and a an off-duty cop prevented me from settling things on the spot.

MPS means mazdapseed. Or if you don't believe me we can ask it Bob Hall.

MPS means Mazda Performance Series

Mazdaspeed and MPS are two different things, but probably very similar if not the same as per the type of upgrades.
