Well, in the report it says "Two-Door Mazda", but I guess with the damage it is now only a regonizeable two doors anyway.

Jokes aside, the driver is very, very lucky to be alive, let alone without serious injuries.

RX-8's, like most all true sports cars, are unforgiving of distracted driving.

A parked fire truck with flashing lights and cones setup does not suddenly pop up in front of you while reaching for your cell phone. He was probably texting or surfing the web while driving. The picture looks worse because it was after they cut the car apart to get him out.

I'm really glad that I've got blue tooth in my R3 and it automatically
links itself when I start the car. And your probably right about the guy texting or surfing.
Cell phones suck but we all have them now, they have there pros and cons. We all just need to a little smarter on how we use them(when and where)

Of all the things to run into. At least with a fire truck you get rescued right away and won't have to worry about burning alive in your car...

My guess is that the doors in the back of the truck do not open any more, and notice the hit on the rear wheel. Likely hit it hard enough to move it due to the wheel rotation.

Probably bent the truck's frame which is why it's estimated at 50 grand. Pretty sure the RX8's frame was bent too, not sure would have to take a closer look at the pics.

Somebody was looking for 2 OEM wheels, he should hit this guy up
