Warranty Void from this problem? Aftermarket pressure plate
Hey Guys:
i have on the other thread what the problem could be... basically what happens is, when i try to engage in reverse, the shifter pops out 1/2 way when the clutch grabs, and the gears just grind (like i'm mis-shifting). This happened immediately after i got some bad wheel hop in 1st gear...
I have an aftermarket Pressure plate, and AFE Short Shifter...
so, since we know the problems-- It can be:
1. Transmission bearing
2. Linkage problem... w/ the detents
3. Shifter itself--something bent below the pivot or w/ the internal pivot itself...
4. broken clutch disk spring
5. loose pressure plate bolts
6. bent shifting fork
7. mainshaft retention ring is broken...therefore, the mainshaft is not engaging
We do know that the shiterball cup did not slip up on the retaining clip -- therefore causing trouble engaging the interlock (correct)?
The concensus is that the problem is most likely to be one that is in the Gearbox...
given that, will warranty cover this?

if not i would think the pp is not releasing all the way... should be covered.... but if you have changed the pp the people that did the work should be covering it....
if you do not still have the stock shifter and need one.... pm me and i will send you one for the test.... and i will want it back..
