Upgraded starter available under warranty - tell me more!

How many of you have had you starter replaced?

My car would not start and was having a major issue with trying to crank it over.

Mechanic replaced the starter with ' a NEW HEAVY DUTY version' and said

' there is no current recall concerning the starter problem on the Rx8 but there should be one'

So along with the other recall issues, and problems associated with this car, you can expect your starter to fail or fall of the car. Wonderful.

Sorry

43,000 miles and mine starts like a champ.

This is the first I have heard about anyone having a problem with a starter. It may not warrant a recall but just replace under warranty any bad ones. Every manufacturer has cars with bad parts. Toyota, Honda included. Those are parts not actualy made by the manufacturer but by a supplier. Sometimes things happen and get caught too late. They are made by humans. No such thing as defect free.

More negative stuff about the 8, or let's cram this forum with alarming-sounding lies

Many of us got the upgraded starter when we flooded the car. Myself included. It's a great upgrade. Why are you complaining?

OK, I just read the pdf and didn't see any measures in place to prevent my starter from falling off. Is there another TSB, or perhaps a DIY? Duct tape?

Mazda doesn't want to tell us that we're actually using the starter from the Crossfire.

Mine wouldn't start this morning, for the first time ever. It's being towed to the dealer right now with the aforementioned TSB sitting on the passenger seat. I'm in the VIN range for the starter and battery replacement, as I have a fairly early build 04. I told the dealership all about it; hopefully they'll take care of it.

I heard that Mazda was going to surprise us with a shipment of 1,000 Mazdaspeed RX-8's. But the ship got off course in a storm and sailed off the edge of the earth. Mazda is keeping it hush-hush because they know that we would riot knowing they lost 1,000 400 hp rx-8's.

Do your homework before you talk out loud.

It has been *fixed* long time ago. but sadly crying babies like you just choose to ignore the facts, and one day when it finally fails u just start bitchin' like an idiot.

Fix your stupidility before you post something like this again

however We all gotta say thanks to you, it is people like YOU who gave our SE3P a bad name. Thank you.

oh yes I love your title tho, it shows how stupid you're

mine has a november '03 build date and i havent had any problems with the car whatsoever. in every instance where theres a recall, the dealer fixed them. I wouldnt even know they existed until i received a recall notice. 48k miles and still no problems....
