New plates on the wife's RX8

Now if only Virginia would get rid of that stupid front plate law...

Thumbs up

I love a "well broke in",seasoned garage like yours. If its too tidy, you might as well just seal it in and use it as part of the house. The wooden boards leaning over there on the left corner wall. Are they starting to warp.....Yep.....my kind of garage..

the 7 makes the 8 look like a boat!

Agh, front plate law is in Cali also. So many people drive around without one but I know if I took mine off I'd be the one ticketed :/

Now that is a garage ...sweet cars there too.....that is a sweet looking seven....in its default position with the hood up they take some tinkering but are well worth it.

A few months after my 8 hit the streets without required ugly front plate, I got a verbal warning. More than two years later, that's it. And it feels good every time I look at the undefaced front end.

I must admit, i'm a bad garage cleaner, lol. Those boards are spares..for..something I'm sure :o Leaves are hard to keep out... I must have swept my garage 10 times in the past month.

I do have a beer fridge..it holds all my autox magnets, it's in front of the 8

FD is currently undergoing spring track prep - hense the 'default' hood up position.

I will say that I've been running my FD for over 2 years now with no front plate, 1 ticket and 1 warning, that's it, however I don't drive that around on the street much and the rx8 is my wife's daily driver so I decided to not tempt the fates and just leave it on for now.

haha, another rx7 friend said when i first showed him pictures that the 7 made the 8 "look like a suburban"

I find it amusing also, because the 8 is not a big car at all, especially when you see it next to other 2 door sedans. I never really realized how small the 7 was i guess.

Alas, I will never have such a garage. My wife does not like my '8 (not such a bad thing) so mine sits next to a mini van (a bad thing) and if she had her way it would be a pickup truck (a really bad thing). I hope you consider yourself lucky.

Yup. The 2nd gen RX-7 is a project/track car I purchased after getting the RX-8. Wanted to do a little high-speed driving but couldn't bring myself to thrash the RX-8, at least while it is still new and under warranty. I find the RX-7 more fun to drive than the RX-8 since it has a bunch of suspension and performance mods. But it's definitely not as refined as the RX-8 and it certainly is not a long-distance car.

Very cool pic, love to see an all rotary garage. I joked after getting the 8 that all i needed to do now was do a rotary swap on my Tacoma lol

I think they're 9-foot doors. If you really want to know, I'll measure them, but as I recall, I didn't specify special doors when the house was built. There are narrower doors available, though.

EDIT: Yeah, 9-foot-wide doors. The garage is wider than usual since I had the builder add a few feet in each direction. A garage can never be too big.

Me too!! Only problem is that I also have a 4Runner and I frequently play musical cars to see which one stays outside. Guess it's time to move to a house with a 3-car garage.
