too much time on my hand
i have had a some extra time lately at work. and have been browsing through several post. engine replacements seem to be a pretty common thing. i have on 04 with cai and catback 45k on the clock. im not a douchebag i know a couple simple mods wont kill my engine, but still from what im reading should i be worried. i dont drive her hard. although i do have fun everynow and then when i can get out without my son in the back.

Dont worry, its the same thing I always say on this issue, whats going to happen is going to happen. Just take proper maintenance and enjoy the car. That's been my mentality and now Im at 72K in my 04 and I just bought a different daily driver so I can keep miles off of mine. You'll be fine, just search around here and learn how to keep it alive.

thanks. i wouldnt mind swappin the engine if it did go. of course it would be nice to be paid off first. i hate that i live like 2 miles from my work. but its only driven 8 months or less out of the year due to deployments. i try to avoid short trips, but i gotta run around base its impossible not to make short trips. i drive her hard dont get me wrong but i dont abuse it was my point.

If mileage is your concern, don't sweat it in an auto. I've tried pussying around in mine to get the best mileage possible. It worked! I got a whopping 250mi to the tank. I then took it out and drove it like I wanted. I stomped a few times, drove easily when I wanted and spun her up to 45/50 (the speed limit) quickly a good dela of times. I saw 240mi to the tank.
so...why drive like your scared and get an extra 5-10 miles to the tank when you can enjoy your car for the cost of....what, a quarter per tank?
