I would like to pick up a used RX-8 just for the fun of it. I had an 04 a couple of years back and I miss it a lot.

I have my eye on two in my area - an 04 Touring, silver with 21,000 miles. The dealer is asking $14,500.

The second is an 05 GT black with 40,000 miles, and the asking price is $15,900. Both have 6 speed, and are in very good condition and both have clean car faxes.

I am not sure what a fair offer would be on these cars. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would think you could get black GT for $15,000 out the door

Silver one probably $14,500 out the door

 

i think you could get it for cheaper even $13000

 

I agree...I think you should be able to get at least $1,500-$2k off their asking prices

 

Here are 2 reference points:

- I believe Tustin Mazda picked up a loaded (navi, aero kit) '06 GT at Manheim Auctions for $16.5K w 2XK miles w/in last couple of months. They have it listed for low 20's.

- This past Monday, I picked up (private party) an '06 GT (Navi, aero kit, leather, side strakes, K&N typhoon, sunroof, etc) for $14.5K w/ 34K miles.
