Seat Belt Extender

Has anybody bought the seat belt extenders so it is easier for toddlers to get to the buckle in their booster seats?

OK maybe not, I like answering my own question.

Mazda makes the extenders for the front seats only, 12" and 9" sizes.
I bought one and it doesn't work in the back seats

I have problems with the rear seat belt buckles smacking into the side of the interior during hard transitions, this is with the belts taunt with no slack. They actually get pulled out. With seat belt extenders back there you might end up with the buckles flying around and hitting things a lot. Just something to think about.

I use velcro, so that passengers can actually use the belts without me having to explain how to get them loose.

I called the dealer just to see if Mazda had put something out recently. He said he would call in to Mazda and let me know if he finds anything. So far, no phone call lol.

There are some aftermarket belt extenders that claim to be compatible with the 8. I know the back buckles are different from the front ones, so they may not actually work. Most are like $15 though so its probably worth taking a shot at one or two.

I suppose. However, if people didn't constantly bring up the same-ol same-ol all the time, the forums would not be nearly as interesting!
