Me, my buddy, and my rx8 are road tripping out to California to move there tomorrow. So those of you on the are will see one more blue 8 on the road ;-). Is there any advice you guys have to give such ad which service dealerships are good or bad and which highways are speed traps. We will be living in the pacific beach area.

I'll try to post some pics here of the trip too if we stop at any cool places

if you're gonna be in town this weekend - definitely stop by our dyno day - a great deal of the local forum members will be there + some tuner guys and some really tall hispanic dude w/donuts...

living in pacific beach just be ready for some huge potholes. you'll get use to them as I did. Being from anywhere but socal (norcal for me) you will quickly learn socal has the most potholes of any area. and they are not small compared to other places haha. sorry for the bad news but I just wanted to give you a heads up because it sucks. That's my one rant about socal. other than that enjoy the weather and definitely meet up with socal members as they are numerous and well experienced.

We just stopped in matoon il for gas. I got 21.7 mpg! Best gas mileage my 8 has ever seen sofar. Also it's cold as ***** and raining. Topping off the oil sucked ***. Were headin back out now.

That's one hell of a road trip. How many miles is it? I gotta drive from Sacramento back to SD tomorrow. Should be relaxing.

What are you moving to San Diego for?

Moving just to get out of Ohio. My friend is coming from Md which is where i'm from. It's really been a smooth ride sofar. Really impressed with the cars highway performance. Got 23.14 mpg yesterday. My friend drives more fuel efficient than me because he wants to take it easier on my car and I like to get the daily redline in. This same car got 11 mpg this last winter all city driving

anyway we are leaving flagstaff today will hit up the grand canyon and expect to be in California tonight.
