Exclamation RX8 Engine Light

I just installed a Racing Beat catback and power pulley and now my engine light is on, Has anyone else had this problem or heard of it. I did fire up the engine without the mufflers installed just to hear it, dont know if that did anything plus the crank trigger plate came off with the old pulley but I installed everything correctly and the car runs great.

Thanks
Steve.

welcome mayersteve!

the CEL should not have come on with those mods but starting it without the mufflers on most likely triggered the emissions light.
You can either disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes to clear the code or go to your local AutoZone and borrow a code reader. It might be able to read the diagnostic code (depending on the reader)

shouldn't be an issue though.

Yep, it was the pulley that did it, you have to reset it as Stealth said.
You need to clear your eccentric shaft sensor profile

Turn the car to on.......do not start it....pump the brake pedal about 20 times real quick while watching the oil guage....once it sweeps right and then back to the left.....turn off the car and next time you start it, you'll be good to go!
If it doesn't work, then repeat it again and pump the brake quicker.

Still no luck?, then Disconnect your battery and pull the "room" 15A fuse in the interior kick panel. Wait 5 minuets and then reconnect everything.

You know I was just asking for help, I dont need your comments and by the way it was worth it! The exhaust has nothing to do with it, its the pulley throwing the code which i fixed.
