proud owner!!!

Hi!!! after half a year of saving up and researching!! i'm officially a proud owner of a manual 2008 black sport RX8!!!!!!!! and then.....i grind my gears doing reverse!! AHHHHHHHHH =\

Yeah you gotta get it into reverse just right. Usually if it goes in too smooth it isn't in and it grinds... Congrats on the new car

Make sure to push the shifter down before going into reverse.

Welcome to the addiction I think everyone on this forum has had the reverse grinding problem just something u learn to do...i personally put it in and out of reverse a couple times to make sure then do itlike normal......a few different tricks i'm sure some more ppl will chime in ha

Get the short shifter no matter what.
It does make reverse easier, but more importantly, it makes every shift SO much better. It really makes the car more fun to drive

shift into 4th and out, let go of clutch, re-engage clutch, push down, get into reverse.

lil trick to be sure it fully engages in reverse: instead of taking ur hand off the stick (after putting it in reverse) keep pulling in a downward motion while simultaneously letting out the clutch (slowly)...with the pressure on the stick it will pop into reverse if it isnt already fully engaged. keep pulling the shifter into reverse as you let out the clutch. you'll notice it moves back another half inch.
