I have seen all the threads and arguments about the engine recall on here. I have gotten recall letters about other things for the rx8, but no letter was sent to me about the engine recall. I have no clue what I should do now. Don't you need the letter to get the recall done. I tired making an appointment without the letter, but the dealer, which sucks, said I have to bring the letter in with me.
Anyway, Has anyone else had this problem about not getting the engine recall letter? What can I do about not getting the letter? Is it only certain 8s that get the recall done? My dealer really sucks *****.
It is running fine now, but I would rather get it done before something happens. Sorry if this has been posted, but I found it difficult to search "no engine recall letter".
Thanks.

I never got the letter. I did get a postcard from my dealer, telling me to bring it in for the recall. Service guy at the dealer told me that they get notified of recalls on the cars they sold.
The dealer should be able to look up whether your car is recalled. You could call MNAO to check on the status of your car. And maybe ask them for the name of another dealer.

I took mine to Budd Baer Mazda down in Washington, PA and they did the recall in an hour and i didn't even need to bring in any type of recall notice letter. I did receive the official recall letter last week though.
