Sounds like an amazing opportunity, I'm glad success is coming to some of you hard working RX-8clubers.
Not knowing exactly what a partnership entails, I'm curious how much editing power Mazda would have in your mag? Do you get the feeling they'd be the least bit interested in censoring anything they didn't like (if they had that power in editing), or do they just want the chance to pay back their loyals with extra tidbits here and there?
Regardless of the answer, still a great opportunity and decision in this partnership. Sincere congratulations, and I look forward to my first issue! (*just* missed the Jan issue I think)

This is really great news guys. Congrats. I have a request for info though. See if we can get more info on the Hydrogen/Gas Hybrid RX8. Including the electric turbo that is has. It would make for a cool feature in the mag.
Congrats again. keep up the good work!

<<<But the focus of the magazine is rotary tuning and racing, and aftermarket stuff.>>> Perhaps the magazine's 'focus' could include 'all-things-relative-to-rotary-and-whats-going-on-inside-the-Mazda-Corporation'. Imagine having 'lines of communication' between us "rotorheads" and some of those persons who have helped with the fruition of our beloved RX-8's. What's the possibility of this happening with another auto company? Probably zip!

Mazda is a company of engineers, full of enthusiasts. The individuals we met with were both enthusiasts, you could tell from their knowledge. So the magazine is right up their alley.

I'm just bummed that I missed the first issue, didn't subscribe until early Feb.
Any chance of getting a back issue on the Jan release? If this mag really takes off, and by all accounts I can't see why it wouldn't, that first issue could be a collectors item
Congratulations again. Maybe we can even look forward to a time when we can have mag Q&A with actual Mazda engineers on the A side of our Q's. That would be something else!

This is AWESOME news. It's HUGE for anyone who's into rotary powered cars, as it means Mazda corporate is stepping up to the plate and recognizing the Tuner industry. This indicates, to me at least, that Mazda may well be getting behind some of the specific tuners and parts available and soon to be. Can you say "A factory-warrantied Forced Induction kit?" :D It isn't unprecedented either - look at Nissan with the Stillen stuff.
It also may mean a "direct line" of sorts between us here on the RX-8 (and RX-7) discussion forums and the real Mazda engineering staff, as the magazine is an extension of the forums - or visa versa.
Too cool too cool. I can't wait to see how this develops! :D

Its a big step, and with big steps come big changes. In a strategy course I once took they said to expect three things:
- You get good things you did want
- You get bad things you didn't want
- You find interesting twists that no one anticipated
Congratulations on the partnership, possibly still in the works, let us know as information comes available.
Happy travels.

Haven't gotten around to ordering my 'script yet (haven't figured out PayPal) but am happy to hear of Mazda support as I think at least SOME of the questions that are posted here are kicked around for quite a while with no real conclusion. Now, with support from Mazda on the mag, this board may be viewed by engineers/designers/R&D that may give insightful info here and save many from the trial and error method of diagnosing problems. Congrats to you and all who have helped you in getting the support that such a dedicated group deserve.

*** Major Edit ***
Had to delete about 2/3 of this thread because it was just Troll after Troll trying to start drama ... and I'm not having that here.

I registered in early Feb. Received an email confirmation (see below), but have not heard anything since. How do I go about checking the status of my registration?
"Thank you for your subscription to RX Tuner magazine. We appreciate
your support, and promise to deliver a quality publication that any
rotary enthusiast will enjoy.
Look for the premier issue of RX Tuner to arrive early January 2004.
If you have any questions, please contact us today."
Thanks.
