I have purchased a low mileage 2008 40th anniversary RX-8 and will take possession of it this week assuming it passes the mechanical inspection and compression test. I'm really looking forward to getting the car as I have always wanted a rotary engined car since the days of the RX-7. In fact in 1989 when I bought my first car it was between an Acura Integra and a second gen RX-7 and I've always regretted going with the Integra.
Anyways, as a new owner I have the following questions I was hoping to get assistance with:
a. How many key fobs does the car come with new, I should have asked the dealer I'm buying the car from but I assume when it was new it came with two fobs is that correct?
b. I'm planning on winter driving the car but we do have a lot of salt here in Ontario. Anyone rust proof their car with something like Krown (http://www.krown.com/#products/rust/) or Rust Check and what has your experiences been with it?
c. Generally I prefer smaller and thinner tires for winter, tire rack recommends a 17 tire for winter driving for this model. Does the 40th anniversary have the exact same brakes as the 2008 GT and thus no issues with going down a tire size?
d. Has anyone gotten a clear bra on the front of the car and how as it worked for you? My Mom has it on her Camry and it looks like it does a good job of protecting the front of the car from rocks and chips.
Thanks for the help.

A. Should be two.
B. I live in Las Vegas...sorry.
C. Should be okay with 17's. Not sure about the brake differences.
D. Bra is ugly, but if you want protection, then put it on.
Anyway, post pics if you can.

The only one not really answered is about the bra. I have seen a few 8's on here with a clear bra and it looks what I consider really good. The proper ones are designed for the car and they don't look bad, and only do good for the paint and body.
I would get one, but my front end is already needing paint :P
