Hello everyone, I'm a 16 year old senior in high school and I am a new member here at Rx8club.com. I have been enthralled with the Rx-8's beauty and power since I first saw a commercial for it a little under a year ago. I joined this forum because i plan to buy an Rx-8 in the near future i.e. a year or two from now, (I have money saved up from theatrical and musical endeavors as a child) and I want to learn all I can about the car so I can fully appreciate and care for my car. However, because of my young age, I am afraid that I will be rejected from this forum as a result of my peer's lack of maturity and respect. Ergo, I am writing this in hopes that veterans of this forum will accept a younger Rx-8 enthusiast such as myself. Thank you.

You are more than welcome to join. I know of one 16 year old owner already on this forum. You will probably get your share of the "gee, I wish I could've afforded an RX-8 when I was in high school", but don't worry about it.

But please, please, recognize that this car can EASILY spoil you for anything else on the road. It's limits are so far beyond your normal vehicle, that you could easily get yourself in trouble in the future by asking another car to do what your 8 does with ease. Respect the road, the machine, and other drivers - and we'll all respect you.

Sure beats the 1964 Ford that was my first car about 25 or so years ago...

Yea, I understand. Right now, I'm driving with a permit with my parent's Lincoln Navigator so maybe that'll help.
