Just purchased a 2004 6 speed with 9,000 miles, Nordic Green GT with all options less navigation, charcoal leather and outside appearance options. 2 previous RX7's, 1987 and most recently a wonderful 94 with 49,000 miles that we had for 6 years, that was totaled due to an engine fire. Really glad this forum is here as I used the RX7 forum for several years. I would like to purchase a set of chrome factory 18" wheels if anyone knows of a good place, please advise.

Congrats and welcome. Check the different forum sections for anything parts related that you may be interested in. Here is a list of the Service Bulletins... http://www.finishlineperformance.com...ins_index.html ... these will probably answer a lot of questions and rumors you may have heard about the 8.

Oh and make sure you search before you have any questions in the future (not referring to your chrome wheel question though) because the search ****'s here will skin you, eat you, and then bury you alive.

The FD was a definite rush to drive and handled better than any car I have owned. Top speed at 150mph but I've only had it to 142mph (ran out of road).
I was always worried about what was going to go wrong and for normal driving, it wasn't as comfortable as the RX8. I really like the user friendliness of the 8 and the comfort for everyday driving and it is no slug. Don't be sorry about the color, we searched a while to get this combination.

For the chrome wheels, check eBay. There is a company on there periodically that offers to swap chromed wheels for your OEM wheels (i.e., an exchange). Of course, there is a substantial sum of money involved.
BTW, did a faulty pulsation damper cause the FD fire? I have an S5 that I'm considering changing out the PD, but the car has low mileage so I'm undecided.
