It would be a scary though if there were flying cars. There are so many dumb asses out there . If you survive the accident in the air you wont survive when you hit the ground.

moving in 3 dimensions is waaaay more complicated than moving in 2. The only way to have a widely used flying vehicle would be to have a compute fly it.
Even if it looks like a car it will still fly like a plane, in fact because it is less aerodynamic and doesn't seem to have the extended hardened landing gear of a plane it seems it would be much harder to take off, fly, and land.
