Lightning Yellow GT AT c/w Nav -Super!
I did it, finally! After 3 weeks of hemming and hawing and gathering scads of great information from this site: Lightning Yellow, GT AT c/w Nav from Whitby Mazda.
Delivery Wed or Thursday this week. Settled for the AT to permit my wife to enjoy it too..had driven it for a weekend and it was a blast, Getting Rotary accents, shock sensor, ECU flash upgrades(N/C of course); aluminium scuff plates, wheel locks and all at dealer cost..highly recommend these gentlemen: Victor Santos, New Car Mgr. and Peter Heasty, Owner. Also superb mechanics, among them Steve and Tony. It's my third car from Whitby.. 2000 MX-5, M6 GT V6( traded it in)..One very happy camper.

Thanks, everyone! Agreed, the Yellow is truly distinctive.. it elicits strong emotional reactions: "I love it!" to "Hate it's!" but no, " Hmm, not sure's," in my informal survey. One of the two RX-qualified mechanics, (ex-Jaguar, and owns two vintage 'saloon' models ) has been ribbing me for hesitating. When I resisted, balking at a 4 speed, he scoffed, insisting the torque and HP are perfectly matched to the torque converter. Anyway, retail CDN GT/ATwith roof and NAV is $43,595. I paid $39,000. Got very satisfactory allowance on the 2004 M6 GT V6 AT Silver with black leather .
Thanks again. It feels great to finally be a member of this outstanding club! I had seriously considering returning to my MX5 roots: the mazdaspeed iteration is a fabulous performer, but so short on creaturee comforts for this 65 year-old geezer, and the RX8 is one truly sophisticated, and superbly-engineered sporting automotive creation.

Welcome to club Lightning Yellow!
I was waiting for an '05 myself. But with the strong possibility that yellow would be gone, I picked up my new car a few weeks ago. I love this color! Had nothing but positive comments thus far. You will certainly enjoy your new car, congrats.

Thanks a lot everyone! I'm happy with the AT. Have had two Integras and an MX5 c/w sticks. Hate them in the city and on our super-clogged 8 lane highways in southern Ontario.
I heard 'officially' today ( Mazda has quietly told dealers in Canada, at least) the new RX7 is due in North America within ~ 2years. No word on turbo: 1, twin, or none. Whichever, that definitely begs for MT>> fo sho!

Inching along College St. West Toronto today , 20-something son says, "Dad I got to borrow this car, okay?"
"Mm, I suppose.. Why the rush?"
"Haven't you noticed all the chicks on the sidewalk staring at it?"
"Funny ... now that you mention it, I thought it was me."
Son: "Yellow rocks.. wasn't sure you when you e-mailed me that you had made the right choice.. but now I am. .. very, very cool, definitely. Oh, and one more thing, cancel your order for the spoiler. Doesn't work.with the contours... it's not a ricer. Man, did you see her.. the blonde with the Starbucks cup? She almost dropped it. "
"Dropped what?"
"The cup, father. The cup!"
Happy Fathers' Day to all RX8 dudes, geezers and fogeys everywhere. We rock!

Congratulations. If you do not mind telling us what you paid. That is the same combination I want to get when I trade up in the next two years. I'm only waiting on Mazda to produce the 8 in that dark electric blue color and I'm ready to trade up to that one.
Nice!

To answer your question, The GT lists in Canada at $39.595.. Roof is $1000 and nav is $3 grand=$43, 595. I got it all for $40,00. Essentiallyy I got the nav for free. The additional options will be ~$550 plus labour @ $49/hour. Saleman said he would get me the strakes.. he likes them so much.I pay for installation. I am deleriously happy with this car.

yellow is one of the best colors! The red is nice under the showroom lamps but the yellow is the only color I have seen on a rx8 that shows off the lines so well...i would liek to see one in white...but I guess I need to go to Japan for that...at least for now
