Installed new intake now weirdness
I just finished installing my new simota carbon fiber intake today, it sounds great. The problem is that once I started her up and gave her a test drive the DSC and traction control symbol lit up. I drove for about 2 mins, stopped and restarted my car. The DSC lights were now off but shortly therafter the oil light came on(and stayed on). Im pretty confused on what is causing this, any thoughts?

Before i went turbo, I had the HKS & REVi unit....did you try and reset the ECU? Maybe update the flash?...... THe DSC and traction control lights can be also triggered by aggressive driving, so that could be it... The only thing I wouldn't do is bring your car to the dealer, because if they see that you have an after-market intake they may try to pin the problem on the SImota intake and they might void your warranty.... Put the stock intake back on and see if you have the same problem. If so, bring it in to the dealer and it should be a warranty claim. You didn't have to cut the wire harness, did you? If so, I'm sorry.

alright, first off.. did you install one of the MAF screens from the stock intake? I just installed this intake in a friends (ndtechie09's) car this past weekend with no issues. To make that traction control light go off, just turn the car off then back on again, like you did. And im thinking that if you the oil light doenst have anything to do with the intake, but i could be mistaken. The MAF screen is a big issue with this intake if you have been following the recent threads about it.

Well are you sure that it is the oil light and not the check engine light? If you did not install the MAF screens on it could have triggered it. Also when you put te MAF sensor back on did you make sure it was flush againts the pipe and not loose. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Let us know how it goes when the stock intake is put on. I wish I could give more assistance.

Oh and by the way, I've had this intake on for awhile now and drove over 500 miles with it in there with the OLD tube with no issues. Please, stop wasting my time.
Thank you

You know, when you say something, and then post the fact that you owned them, it's just not really the same, since you don't usually own them.
Anyways, sorry about my comment above.
