First Road Trip in my 8!!!

So I am about to embark on my first road trip in my new 2009 GT RX8! Not a big deal just a 3 hour drive from Dallas to Fredricksburg TX but I am really excited! Any advice on what to do to prepare, what I need to bring along or anything that i need to know about before we set off?

Top up your oil, and maybe check your tyre pressure to save fuel for the trip.

We just took ours on its first trip, a little over 200 miles. I can tell you that ours was not happy with the rough road that is I-40 around Flagstaff. Our Grand Cherokee is better suited to that road...you need lots of suspension travel.

^900 Miles without stopping? Wow you must get great gas mileage to get 900 miles out of only 16 gallons of fuel!

Always, ALWAYS (long trip or no) keep a quart of oil in your trunk (tie it up with your flat tire kit).

You need to put together what we call a Beauty Kit for your 8. Ours consists of

1. Quick Detail-er Spray

2. Invisible Glass Cleaner

3. Gel Tire Shine

Separate zip lock bags, LABELED ! so you don't cross contaminate.

1. Tire Gel applicator

2. Glass Rag

3. Detail Rag

4. Wheel/Rim Rag

5. Oil Rags

Don't forget your California Duster or equivalent
Have Fun!

The rx8 is a great road trip car. I bought my car out of state and drove it 9 hours home and it was actually really comfortable and I had no complaints. Good luck and have fun.
