Finally, I am a RX8 owner

I just bought a 2006 Phantom blue RX8 with 29k miles.
I really like it, but still not familiar with high rpm. My previous car was G35, I was able to drive it even under 2000rpm all the time. I guess I will be familiar with it soon.

I just found after 1 hour from I bought it, that the passanger window is not opened all the way down. It stops at 1/4 point. I guess something stuck inside. I will take it to dealership to get repair.

Question for you,

1. Mazda bumper-to-bumper warranty is 4 year/50000 miles, right? The previous owner bought it in July 2006 and the current mileage is 29k. So the warranty left 6 months or 20k?

2. The car vibrate when I stop. When the car is moving, no vibration. But when I stop the car at red light, it starts vibrating a little. It doesn't feel like it is a serious problem but I can feel that it vibrate more than it is moving. Is this normal?

Mazda warrants that new 2006 Mazda cars and trucks will be free of defects with normal use and prescribed maintenance for 48 months or 50,000 miles, which ever comes first. Ordinary maintenance items or adjustments, parts subject to normal wear and replacement and certain other items are excluded. This transferable "limited warranty" is included on all new Mazda vehicles sold and serviced in the United States.

Accessories:

Mazda notes that all Genuine Mazda Accessories, if installed by the Mazda Dealer prior to or at initial vehicle retail delivery, carry the same new-vehicle limited warranty as the vehicle. See dealer for limited-warranty details. With all accessories, please check with your Mazda dealer for applicable models. In some cases, parts in addition to those shown will be required for proper installation. In all cases, professional installation by your Mazda Dealer is recommended. They're sure they've solved the problem. They'd be fools to offer such a long warranty if they didn't think it was fixed. The warranty is there to build consumer confidence.

The extended warranty came out at the same time as 4206f, which was the real fix.

I heard that there are motor mounts, and transmission mount. Shoul I replace both? And are they covered by bumper-to-bumper warranty?

if its vibrating while braking than the problem is probably warped rotors, you might need a front brake job and some new rotors. if it vibrates at idol than maybe need some new motor mounts.

^agreed...rotors if during braking and motor mounts if at idle...

Motor Mounts are covered under bumper to bumper as long as the dealership finds them to be faulty....

Everyone is saying motor mounts.... If he is at a standstill, it could just be a rough idle.

Whats your idle at?

Caused by the engine mount being bad. Look at the right one. It goes first.

No one even asked if the car had an aftermarket intake. After all it is used and this could be a possibility. Obviously, certain aftermarket intakes will affect the cars idle. Do you have an aftermarket or stock intake?

very true, the right motor mount goes bad first, allthough when I needed it replaced the driver side motor mount was still good, but to avoid the experience I got both of them replaced... rattle went away

For IDLE consider the following:

If aftermarket intake or STOCK, consider cleaning the MAF sensor

Also check ignition plugs, wires, possibly coils too when was the last time they were replaced.

Could also be oil change, and the type of oil used

And last what type of oil in the tranny , consider a flush and replace ( no Royal Purple )

Good Luck hope these little details help

Thanks for replies!!

I have stock intake and no mod yet, and idling rpm is fine.
I think it is motor mount problem.

I am going to take the car to dealership on friday.
I have bumper-to-bumper warranty, they will do everything for me
