Is this common?

Has anyone had issues with their airbag sensor light(s)??
I'm driving an '07 RX8 GT with a mazdaspeed cold air intake, and I've been having this problem for a while.

Are you still within your warranty? If so bring it to the dealership

^...............OP needs to read up a bit. Most(not all) of the time it's the one under and behind the passenger seat. Unplug it, and plug it back in. This is usually caused when someone moves that seat a long distance..........sometimes it becomes unplugged even though it looks okay.

yeah, check the connections, unplug & plug. happened to me twice. first time i just pushed in the connectors thinking they were loose. came back after awhile and tried unplug and plug. oh DONT FORGET to DISCONNECT your BATT. not sure if there's a risk of triggering the airbags.

airbag light

Its not on constantly...Its come on periodically, about 20 times in the first 44k. Sometimes at excessive speeds, other times when making lane changes. Been to dealer; had modulators replaced, computer reset, connectors checked, even had new wiring harness installed...Do you think I should fear the airbag could deploy?
If you disconnect the sensor under or behind seat does it disconnect airbag completely??

Was someone in the front seat with you? I'm only asking because on our Acura CL-S if someone is in the passenger seat and they lean or move too close to the dash the airbag warning light comes on and stays on until you shut the car off.

Airbag light

Noone was in the car with me. Nothing on seats either.
Should I fear that the airbag will deploy?
