That "Cars" animation movie using the RX8 look? I think so.

I recently saw a trailer for this upcoming movie "Cars", and I could swear I saw the main car character (the cars talk) resemble much like an RX-8. Then I saw it on yahoo, and I really think they made the front resemble the RX-8!

Now... who agrees with me?

You can go to the page if it's still up here.

Do you think the fronts RESEMBLE each other?

Definitely - You believe the front does resemble the front of the RX-8.
I can't really tell - You don't see resemblance.
Definitely not! - You strongly believe the fronts look NOTHING alike. (aka BLIND)

Or it could be the fact that the RX-8 looks like it has a smiley face from the front. Clearly that makes too much sense though... So throwing out things like logic and reason it's clear that they saw the RX-8 and modeled the cartoon cars after it.

Well of course the back doesn't look like it, but I think the whole front and headlights especially were ripped from the RX-8.

LMAO, your not supposed to show the rest of the car.

Obivously the rest of the car doesn't look like an RX-8, just the front of it RESEMBLES to me.

You think I'm comparing the entire car? WhY!??????

John Lasseter has said that they did not allow the leading man- car - resemble any known automobile. They were going for Corvette, but had to make it generic. Also, they had to make other cars in the Nascar field non-recognizable as GM or Ford vehicles.
The lead female, Sally, is a Porsche, they acknowledge that in the movie. They also did a VW Bus.

It does resemble an 8. It has a front, sides, and headlights. Yep. Just like it. I am not sure other cars have a front, sides, and headlights available as an option.

You wish.

About the thread, that was really funny, thanks for sharing it! Your reply to the user was pretty predictable though. Try to think of something new to say...

If anything, I think it looks more like a 93-95 RX7.

Hmm I never saw it that way. Perhaps if you removed the head lights it would a little bit.

Just a heads up, you might want to prepare for Ike's wraith.

Nah, other than the smile on the front, he's all NASCAR. BUT I think it'll be a terrific movie for me and Das Kidlet. Jeez, just look at some of the names... Paul Newman, Cheech Marin, Larry the Cable Guy, George Carlin, Michael Keaton, John Ratzenberger... I'd see the movie just on the basis of that!

REL_RX8, I see what your saying. But I think its the headlights that make you see the RX-8 in that car.

You're all wrong, it's actually the result of a 250 GT Berlinetta humping Moby Dick while doing acid.
