Cabin material and finishing quality
Alright, first things I noticed today:
1. The cupholder lid seems to be getting loose. You can easily rock (or slide it, if you prefer) it from left to right when its closed. Don't remember this when we took the card from the dealer (maybe my mind is playing tricks on me.)
2. I saw a thread about some marks right above the glove compartment, similar to the ones that make the passenger airbag deployment possible. Not detected when the card drove off the dealer.
3. The mirrors adjustment switch (L-R) seems very, very cheap and fragile (this is just opinionated.)
Anyone with similar opinions or additions to the list?

I don't know, maybe the fact that I've been driving a Rav4 '97 which is extremely poor in finishing and material quality. And was expecting to switch to a 30K+ car with 30K+ material quality.
Or again, maybe its normal and I am not used to driving a new car and see it decay 4 days after taking it off the dealer. It must (might) be simply normal.

The cup holders and storage bin will be the first things to break. Trust you me.
Other than that the fit and finish of the car is incredible. Definitely a move up from my last 1992 $28k semi-luxury car.

i better start taking more care when opening and closing that cup holder cover then...right now it's working just fine but i do tend to slam it shut and slide it forward haphazardly...also i agree that that is the worst place for a cupholder...if i buy a Big Gulp, there's no room for my elbow to move while shifting...not that there's another area for the cupholder, but maybe if it was deeper
with that said, i believe the RX-8 cabin is pure bliss to sit in...it's wonderfully crafted and different from a lot of other cars i've sat in...it's elegant enough for the luxury car owner, sporty enough for the racer, and fitted with enough gadgets to satisfy geeks like me...sometimes i just sit in my car just cuz...

Mine started moving side to side as well and I noticed a broken part in the cupholder. It looks like a once inch think strop of plastic very similar to the one under the lid (when openen you can see it on the left side). Ever since this part fell off the cover also makes a slight grinding noise when I move it forward to close. Maybe yours had this tiny part fall of as well.
