CA My First RX-8 Suggestions Please!

hey guys, I sold my Lexus Is300 last week and im deffinetly getting an RX8 ive been admiring them for the past 3 years and im now finally able to purchase one.

I know about getting the compression test ill go ahead and take it to the mazda dealer to see if they can get it done for me before i buy the car I dont think the engine has been replace but i know for sure today when i go look at the car. Is there anything else to look out for? Ive been reading the forums as much as i can to pick up anything i can too look for in the car.

The car im looking at buying right now that im going to see this afternoon is a:

Its really clean inside and out it looks like its been taken car of really well.

2005 Mazda RX-8
Pearl White
Manual 6 speed Rotary Engine
60,000 miles(still covered under warranty 8 year or 100,000)
Sport Package
Rear Spoiler
Traction Control
AC
Power Windows
Power Door Locks
Cruise Control
CD player
Dual Air Bags
Side Air Bags

And the price on it is 12,000

Just let me know what you guys think, i if i can get this one right after i get it im going to lower it a little bit and put it on some black Tenzo type m, rims so it should look pretty solid.

Thanks

Your not going to get a correct compression reading from a Toyota dealership. This is not a piston engine. Takes a special compression tester. Specific to the Rotary.
Do some research on testing the compression on a rotary engine.

$12,000 is about $3000 over what I would pay for a 2005 model.

Good luck and hope it will pass the compression test. Anyway, post pics whenever you have it.

Car prices vary drastically depending upon location. I just purchased my 2004 '8 with 33K miles two months ago at $12.9K. That being said, it's obvious that you want a white RX-8. My advice on that would be to consider other color options as well. You may find a much better deal on, say, a black '8, in which case you could buy it and have it repainted white at some later time.

The price doesn't seem too steep, although I would keep searching to find slightly lower miles unless the car you're buying has a clean carfax and comes with the previous owner's maintenance records.

Good luck with your search - it'll definitely be worth the wait and struggle once you sign the dotted line.

good luck with the purchase. If you're from CA. (assuming that CA in your title doesn't mean Canada) - be sure to come out n' hang out - a lot of what's said on these forums get lost so if you ever have any questions - feel free to hit up a local.

btw, if you're from cali, screw those Tenzo M's and get these: https://www.rx8club.com/west-sale-wanted-145/19x9-5-matte-black-axis-hiro-wheels-5x114-3-45-a-219824/

more reputable wheel n' cheap.
