Track Day 7/20/11 Pacific Raceways
I'm all signed up for another track day on Wed. 7/20/11. This is another HPDE school day, so if you've never tracked your car and you are interested, this would be a good day. They are normally on Monday's, but for some reason it's on Wed. and I'm taking advantage of it
If you have tracked your car, you can drive too. I drove last month on a school day, and I drove three 50 - 60 minute sessions.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. This is not racing, but it is at racing speeds. It is pass by permission only in four designated areas, so you don't have someone trying to sneak past you in a corner.
The website is http://www.proformanceracingschool.com/
Also if you are curious what to expect on a school day, here is a video of a school day at PR. You will notice that when you get into the let by zones, the instructor puts his arm out the window signaling that he is letting you by, NO ARM OUT THE WINDOW, NO PASS!!! And there are cones on the side of the track marking the entrance, apex, and exit of the turn. It's basically connect the dots and it gets you safely around the track. On the hard braking turns there are several cones marking the braking zone. You determine where and when to start braking.

Hope to see you out there! (and RawrX8, get the tranny and actually take a day off and only work 364 days this year )

I'm really exited too. I got a smart phone last moth and and I'll be using the app Trackmaster to log my speeds and lap times. I'll also be using an app called Torque. I bought a Bluetooth OBD2 sensor and will log the OBD2 sensor data on the phone too. Should be pretty cool!

We need to plan a time to get out there
Last night I went out to the SouthCenter mall to practice using the Trackmaster App. I set up a course and set split time markes to time the laps, and it worked great!
Does anyone know how to sync up the data with a camera. I'm using the free RaceChrono2AVI software to put the data into the video. I can get it close but would like to get it more precise.

What all do you have to do to sign up for a race day, how much did it cost you, if I've never tracked my car at Pacific Raceways before is there anything special that needs to happen?

Check out the proformance racing school website that Tanker listed. I think it is about $500 for the day.

First you need to go to the proformance website and click enroll and select the date and course. If you've never driven on a track before, you'll need to sign up for the One Day High Performance which will cost you $555. If you have track experience, it'll run you $245 plus $135 for a coach for 50 minutes to sign you off as a solo driver. Then you set.

If you still have questions feel free to ask
I am not. I won't be able to make that one, but is there a website that has there schedule?

Cool. Are you planning on attending this event? If so look me up. We'll probably not be able to meet till after the day is over (they do a good job of keeping you busy even when you're not on the track,) but if I'm by my car walk on over My 8 is silver
Dondo is right, it doesn't exist, and it shouldn't. It is the club's responsibility to make sure you are competent to drive and know the course so you don't hurt yourself or others. It is a lot of fun to drive, but it is also serious business. Everyone that you are sharing the track with also wants to know that you have proven to an instructor/coach that you know the rules and know how to handle your car. Besides your life and health, there is a lot of money on the track and no one wants someone that doesn't know what they are doing to run into them.
Autox is a blast and they are normally held on Sundays over in Bremerton.

Another event to check out is the lapping events at PGP. It's the go kart track right next to Pacific Raceways. It looks like A LOT of fun. It's $75 for a half day and $150 for a full day.
