RX8 Newbe Need Help Raleigh NC area
Hello All
I bought a 06 RX8 in July 2016 with 58K miles and I love the car. Due to work travel I have had no time to do anything with the car except drive it.
This week it started having issues not able to stay started at stop lights and would not restart very easy. Not knowing anyone in Raleigh to work on the car yet, I got it started and went right to the Mazda dealer.
They say it needs:
1. New starter which it has been starting really slow so I figured that much
2. Battery - I figured that one as well
3. Catalytic Converter - which at Mazda dealer is really expensive.
I'm looking on line and CC are like $200 to $300 and they want like $1500.
So I'm looking for some advice on what is a good CC to buy and should I replace the whole exhaust system with something that will get me more HP and sound cooler, or just the CC. And if so can you provide links to good CC and exhaust systems that I can get online.
Also if someone could point me to a good RX8 mechanic in the Raleigh NC area that would be awesome. I'm a computer nerd not a car mechanic so I need to find someone good that will not rip me off.
