Monthly Sushi Night for Lower Tri State Rotaries(MD,PA,DE)
This was brought up in the MD thread but I think it should be a more inclusive idea, involving the lower Tri State area (MD, PA, DE)
- The plan is a monthly gathering at Sushi hotspots.
- All are welcome Sushi noobs and Sushi lovers alike, as well as significant others. Sushi noobs fear not most places have cooked foods like Terriyakis and Tempuras and sushi lovers can point you in the direction of beginner sushi’s if your interested in trying new and tasty things...
- Each month the location will change, to accommodate everyone involved and help balance out the distances of commutes.
- I am thinking about every third Friday or Sunday of the month starting next month (March 20, or 22). Some Sushi places aren’t open on Sundays so this will be an option and obligation of the local member to find out the schedule of the involved resturaunts.
- Times to consider for Friday scheduling would be later in the evening to allow 9 to 5ers time to get home and get ready for the commute, suggested 8-9pm, Sunday schedules can be earlier in the evening so that people don’t have to rush home and go to bed for Monday work schedule…
- Also when choosing you fav local place consider the parking and and outdoor area, with the weather starting to warm up and the light lasting longer in the day this will be a great place for socializing and photo ops…
- Like stated earlier each month, the location will change and will be a rotation of states so that we can balance commutes… After each event I will post the next state asap so the local members can decide where the next months venue will be,,,,
- Hopefully we can get this thing off the ground and will be a successful g2g over some great food,,, I will work as hard as possible to make this successful but its ultimately up to your interest and involvement, right now the MD PA and DE rotary meets seem to be disjointed with many complaining about on average an hour and a half commute, hopefully with the layout and rotation of the venues it will encourage all to put equal effort into meeting up with others regardless of the commute,,,, Please chime in with interest….

( 17th, or 19th undecided) AUGUST - DE - Sushi Night @ ??????????? (21st, or 23rd undecided)
Also if anyone feels like driving tens minutes South or happens to arrive early your more than welcome to come by my place and hang out til dinner....

Philly will most likely be the next location and we from MD would make the trek up there but you would have to do the same for us when we have a meet down here in MD or DE you would have to make the trip...
Im gonna let the thread simmer for a week or two, so people can make up thier minds which day to make it the third weekend thing isnt set in stone so if anyone has suggestions that would be great as longas we could all come to an aggreement,,,
I will be away all this week, when I come back I will start to organize the first night out!!!

ok well i went to sushi hana last night. the only thing about that place and with kaiyodai, is there really any place to do a g2g afterwards. i mean sushi hana was awsome no doubt, but it really seemed crowded on a saturday night and i assume that a friday would be the same. greg and stacy and lauren you guys know that area alot better then i do. so is there any place to have a g2g after, i would love to find anothe excuse to go back.

I vote Rotate be the starting place. It's lame and all but there is a parking garage right nextdoor ... assuming it's not too cold we could all park on an upper level and hang out after? Is that lame? Can't be any worse than the wa wa parking lot. The Rech room is right around the corner, too... it's a bar and they also have a pool room so that might be fun.

i vote for sunday march 29th last sunday of the month
umm well i'm all in for whatever any where. as long as its good. there is one place in westminster but its not worth everyone comeing out here for it. so just say where and when and my 8 and me plus one will be there.
