We'll that's in conjunction with the FD kits as well. We sell quite a few of those so 25 shouldn't be a huge deal to hit. RX7Club, RotaryCarClub, RX8Club and we'll post to some social media as well... but having group buy members jump on board and tell their friends is what really helps.

SakeBomb has always been very grassroots, we make what people want/need not what we think will return the biggest profit.

We make parts for cars we love, not to make a buck so we've always had a different reputation than most companies. It's the reason we barely scrape by, but the community supporting us and the love of these cars is what keeps us going we're terrible businessmen, but great rotary enthusiasts

That said, tell your friends everyone! We only exist because of our awesome customers, and try to put as much of the little money we make back into R/D for these cars.

Hey Christopher
So our delivery of stickers is late, we'll have to send them separately. What logo(s) did you want? Were you looking for a windshield banner or something smaller?

Hey!
No problem! I don't mind the wait!
I was looking for something smaller. I really like your sake bottle logo. That looks cool!

I plan on it, but I'd like to get it for $640, and not $750.
I've already got a BHR kit, the lower price would make it easier to justify.
Every little bit helps.

^all kits are now sold (we actually accidentally sold a few extras that were listed on the website as in stock accidentally, so congrats to whoever got those). We're waiting on restocking now to fulfill those last orders. Thanks and Happy Holidays everyone!

PS we've added a custom "universal" application to the RX8 section, which allows for custom coil mounting solutions (for those who don't want to put them in the OEM location). We didn't think there would be as much interest in those but we've sent out quite a few universal RX8 kits.

If anyone has questions or needs assistance, you can email us info@sakebombgarage.com or text our new shop phone 510-356-5556

I received my kit today.
I'm not sure when I'll actually install it, hopefully soon.

A few first impressions;
I'm very impressed with the quality and attention to detail of the kit, hardware, and the instructions with color pictures was a nice touch.
It was packed well, with plenty of padding.

I started to assemble the coils and bracket.
2 minor issues;
The instructions omitted a 5mm hex wrench for the needed tools.
One of the threaded nuts welded to the bracket had boogered up lead threads.
I had a hex wrench and a 6M-1.0 tap handy, so no big deal.

I'm very pleased so far.
I will update once I get it installed, I still need to get my new plugs.

So, I pulled the manifold off to swap in some larger injectors today and thought why not do the Coil kit as well. Things did not go as planned. Has anyone installed one of these kits on a sport before? "it has a different ABS unit" I had some clearance issues with the ABS unit. I fixed that issue along with one of the ignition leads being a bit short by rotating the coils and now it has interference with the Refrigerant line. I could flip that one coil but then I would once again need a slightly longer ignition lead.

Circled is the original fitment issue------v

In the square is the Sport ABS unit. No DSC

Circled is my second fitment issue. If I flipped just that coil, the L2 ignition lead is too short.

This picture from the beginning of the thread is wrong, if the directions are correct.

We thought of flipping that one coil or bending the AC line (tricky) but both options are less than ideal and the wire was still too short regardless. My guess is that they never test fit it on a non DSC RX-8 Sport.

If you look at my second and third pictures they are flipped. Check out the interference with the AC line.

Yeah, I saw that.
I was pointing out the pics in the thread and the directions were backwards.
9k told me about it, I was double checking to see how they looked installed.

SB might want to delete that pic to avoid any further confusion.

Agreed. If the L2 was even a 1/2" longer I could have inverted that one coil and made it work. I wonder if this problem is universal to the rarer sport models or I have a bent AC line. (engines been out 4 times so it's within the realm of possibility).

Nah, the AC line is fine, if it were bent it would not bolt up to the bracket on the firewall properly.

They just didn't test fit on a Sport. I would say the base models and Sports are pretty common. And I think even with the longer wire and flipping that one coil over you would have issues with the boot rubbing on the AC line.

How come no one emails us ever info@sakebombgarage.com !!! Don't be strangers. I just stumbled on the gb thread by accident and saw all the posts

We weren't aware of the conflict with sport ABS systems as this was designed on a non sport. If you guys need longer lines for the sport ABS unit please email me. We can add instructions/and extend the length of the lines to accommodate the sport setup. We can provide a free replacement wires, just email us your order number and mailing address.
