Bad Guy - Pstone

Pstone offered items for sale. https://www.rx8club.com/mw-sale-wanted-142/performance-parts-sale-221835/
I made an offer to purchace the EVO-R Adjustable Endlinks & Racing Beat Dual Res Midpipe for a price and he agreed to the deal. Today I received a PM from him saying that he got a better offer for the midpipe so he can't send it to me.
He renigged on the deal.

what's wrong with kids these days?
how much time passed from the time he agreed to the deal and the PM being received stating he'd gotten a better offer?

Did he give you payment instructions?

IF so, that's simply sad on his part that he would agree to one thing and then do another.
I guess deals aren't final around here anymore until money is actually exchanged.

Taken from the PM:

He agreed to the price and method of payment on Friday 8/19 and said he would get the cost of shipping over the weekend (which he never did). Today 9/22, I am notified that he sold it to someone else because he got a better offer.

I wouldn't bet on that either.

Sorry, I don't think that makes him a bad guy or justifies posting this thread. His ad likely said OBO and it sounds like he got a better one before your deal was closed.

You should change the title from bad guy to sour grapes. Just speaking from experience, same thing has happened to me. I've had the opposite happen too; buyer backs out for whatever reason. It's aggravating for sure, but again IMO not bad guy thread material.

Making posts about being POd rather than ripped off is what the rest of the forum is for

Yes, I did back out after I said it works. I didn't realize you were going to make such a deal about it. No money traded hands so I didn't think there was any foul play at all. I tried apologizing over PM and you threw sarcasm back at me.

Now it seems you're on a mission to dirty my name on this forum. First putting a negative comment on my trader status. Then trying to make the users that purchased my products worry that I'm screwing them over on my for sale thread, even though I provided tracking numbers for everything shipped. Then posting up this thread in the good guy/bad guy section.

I understand you might be upset, but it seems like you're putting way too much work into trying to make me look bad. If I'm such a bad seller, why have I sold a lot of my parts without any complaints of lost items or stolen money, and why have people previously posted me as a Good Guy in this section?

I don't think he's a bad guy at all. Extremely fast with packaging/ shipping. And it's not like he STOLE money from you. I got a tracking number and a phone call. Dude has great customer service.

Everyone, this is retribution for a post I deleted of his. He posted it in a vendors forum for a problem part he didn't even buy from that vendor. The vendor complained.
MM, I do play euchre. I just didn't know how to spell the word. Spell check wasn't any help.

Wow, you know how to play Euchre?
I can honestly say you are the first American that I know that even knows what Euchre is ..
I was begging to believe it was a Canadian thing.

I grew up in Michigan and that is where the game is suppose to have originated. It seems to be popular mainly in the Midwest states.

I'm going to throw my .02 in here. When an agreement is reached, it should be honored. At the very least say that you need payment within X amount of time after which you will accept another offer. True that you weren't technically bound since money didn't exchange hands but there are certain etiquette guidelines that you should generally follow in business.

Don't get mad about him leaving a negative trader status. He has a valid point. There was an agreement that was made and it wasn't upheld. He wasn't happy about it. It's as simple as that. You may have a right to sell to someone else but he has a right to complain about it if you told him it was his first. That's what the trader status is for and sadly it isn't always going to be positive. How many good transactions there have been is irrelevant to the one that didn't go as planned.

Even the best companies, businesses, people, etc have a bad experience every once in a while. Don't get mad. Just learn from it and move on. In the future perhaps you should say payment must be made immediately or provide a guarantee that once you reach an agreed upon price that you won't sell it to anyone else as long as payment is made within X amount of time. On the flip side any buyers should be absolutely clear of the terms as well. That's business. It isn't always pretty.

You beat me to it. Cept for the euchre part. Oddly enough, I did know how to spell it.

i'm confused. is this a bad guy thread about a card game? or a card game about end links?

Ptsone, all of this could have been avoided by changing this:

That works. What's your address so that I can get a shipping quote? I usually go through USPS since it's right next to my house.
to this:

That works, but give me a few days to see if I get a better offer, ok? What's your address so that I can get a shipping quote? I usually go through USPS since it's right next to my house.
Nothing wrong with trying to get the highest dollar for what you're selling but make sure everyone involved understands the rules.

Folks, all of this because I removed one of his posts at the request of a vendor. One in which he asked that vendor to honor a warranty for a product he bought elsewhere.
Also, I didn't give him a 3 day ban. I asked the other members of the staff to review his activity and see if any action is required. His posts here have been no where near as nasty as the PM's he has sent me.

I don't hide behind a keyboard. I travel the width of the US to races (with Mazda Corrals) and meets. This year I plan on being in VA, NV, OH and maybe FL where people can meet me. Well over a hundred RX8Club members have met me. Other members of the staff do the same thing.
