In what car did you learn how to drive an automatic transmission?

In all fairness to the people who have automatic cars or RX-8's, I posted this thread so that they could share their "experiences" as well.

Also nothing special again, I first learned to drive on a 2001 Chevy Cavalier.

Man I remember that thing used to be so awesome, with the sub's and stuff.

learned to drive automatic? there is no learning...you get in, look at the markings on the shifter and you know....its far from rocket science. the first car i drove that was automatic was my parents 1998 toyota camry. i hated it. i was so used to manual...it was boring(even compared to my 3 cylinder geo metro that was manual) and i found my left foot was tensed up the entire drive pushing against the dead pedal with all its might. haha.

There is more to driving a car than just shifting. This will not turn into a automatic transmission (and the people who drive them) bash. I have deleted one post because of that.

I learned to drive on manuals, the only auto I've owned was a '97 Protege. I can't say there was any learning involved, I just put it in drive and hit the gas.

I used to have to drive those pieces of crap all the time when I worked for Budget Rent a Car. Many times people would get hit in the head by the motorized seatbelt. About the only thing good about the Tempo / Topaz was its ice box A/C

My heater smelt like waffles and syrup when turned on. Winters were so badass.

1971 Datsun 510 sedan, it was a pea green soup kind of color and slow as dirt. With the A/C on it was faster to walk, but it was my first car.
See a trend here for me?

No way, I learned on a 1992 Mazda MPV. It was the first time I discovered how important having ABS is and how dangerous RWD is in a light vehicle when in the wet and in the snow lol
