Cadillac CTS in automatic, BMW 335i coupe in manual (extra money needed for the Vishnu piggyback), and Infiniti G37 coupe in manual or automatic.
The 335i coupe interior is a little more acceptable than the sedan's. The Infiniti G37 coupe interior is still not quite acceptable. This one is more solid than the old one's but it's a generic SUV interior. Look at the vent slats that go vertically. They're vertical because the damn dashboard is so damn tall, just like an SUV's. The only Infiniti interior that is acceptable is the M's, the interior of which is a bit similar to that of the G37 coupe's, but even the M's feels not as tall as the G's.
All three are overweight. So my ideal pick would be the next rotary car in 2010.

I would seriously consider a BMW 135 instead of the 335 or m3.
It carries the same engine as the 335 and is alot lighter, has 50/50 balance, 6 sp, 300 hp and for it's weight, does 0-60 in 5 secs. A few mods will make that even quicker, and at 35K, you'll have some cash for mods...

Has to be a brand new car? Probably a G37 Coupe. The 335i coupe I'd like too, but it's 50k if you include all of the options and it lacks a limited slip differential, which the G37 has. They both pretty much have the same performance stats too, plus the G37 doesn't have the oil cooling issues that the 335i coupe is having.
A track day racer though... Lotus Elise, without a question.

I would say the 335xi coupe. Dad just picked up a 335i coupe wednesday and that thing fliesssss. Rodigo, the 335i does the 0-60 in 4.8 secs acccording to car and driver I believe. But it will cost you in 40k plus, at the base. The interior is very impressive and simple but it has a lot of features

Im not a fan of the new G37. It's hard to say. I'm not sure if there is anything out there for 40K that I would buy brand new.. I would look at an 06' G35 6MT and use the rest for supporting mods I guess..
